Product Description

Amenorrhoea is the absence of menstruation. , and can be categorized as primary or secondary.

Secondary amenorrhea occurs when monthly menstrual flow ceases in a woman who has had regular periods. 10 – 20 per cent of women complaining of infertility have amenorrhoea.

Before proceeding with this test please ensure you are not pregnant as this could be a possible cause of Amenorrhoea. If in doubt take our Pregnaclinic Ultra pregnancy test before proceeding, to rule out pregnancy.

There are multiple causes of secondary amenorrhea, but many involve imbalances of

Oestradiol -? Is a female sex?hormone which is produced in the ovaries of women. Low levels of oestradiol in women can lead to osteoporosis,?problems with the menstrual cycle

FSH- Measuring the amount of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in your blood can determine if your ovaries are working properly.

Prolactin- is a hormone which is produced in the pituitary gland and plays a role in reproductive health. Raised levels in a woman who isn’t pregnant or breastfeeding can signal?fertility problems as well as irregular periods.

LH -Raised LH in women can signal that you are not ovulating, that you are menopausal or that your hormones are not in balance (as with polycystic ovaries).

Malfunction of your thyroid- Disorders of the thyroid gland may result in menstrual irregularities. Measuring the amount of FT3/FT4/TSH in your blood can determine if your thyroid is working properly.
